To foster friendships formed betwen men of the Royal Air Force and the Dominions and Allied Air Forces who escaped from enemy territory and enemy-occupied Europe, a Royal Air Force Escaping Society has been formed. Lord Portal of Hungerford is the society’s first president. and Air Vice-Marshal Sir Basil Embry is the first chairman of the committee. New Zealand airmen who were brought down and escaped will be eligible for membership. Two who made spectacular escapes were Squadron Leader J. M.
