METHVEN TRAIN
Sir, —I would like to ask the District Manager of Railways why there is no train to Methven on * Wednesdays, when there are trucks of lambs offering for the freezing works. Why send the train away from Methven at 1 p.m. as against 2 p.m. other years, as it is nearly impossible to drive lambs six or seven miles and have them trucked by 12.30—Yours, etc., FARMER. January 15, 1947. [This letter was referred to the District Traffic Manager, who stated that as from Wednesday. January 22, arrangements had been made for a train to leave Methven at 1.45 p.m. The arrangement would continue during the stock season.]
