SHOOTING OF ASKARIS
Sir, —What price peace when such as •‘British” write blather of British prestige and show evident desire to keep down our coloured subjects. 1 rem nd “British” that the Indian divisions were unsurpassed by white contingents in the recent conflict. “British” states we should be proud and nationalist conscious—great build-ups for war. We fought to save our own wealth and skins, and did not rush valiantly in pre-war days to the cause of the oppressed. We can still uphold “the old prestige” in the historic manner—a few’ atomic bombs exploded on the unenlightened masses and we are still
master. Christians! Aren't we all? -Yours, etc., - . „ A. F. WILLIAMS. Lewis Pass, January 14, 1947,
