BRITISH WORKERS AT CANBERRA
SOME DISSATISFIED (Rec. 9 p.m.) CANBERRA, Jan. 15. About 30 of the 200 British building workers who arrived recently have announced that they are quitting Canberra as soon as they draw their first Pay.,
Some of the men have already stated that they are returning to England as soon as they can make enough money to accumulate their fares. They do not like Australian drinking hours, the shortage of cigarettes and tobacco, the strong Australian sunlight, the difficulty of Australian bricklaying, the Australia*! hardwoods, which lacerate their hands, and the lunch of two dried sandwiches with which they were provided yesterday. Those who complain are, however, in a minority.
