WATERSIDE CALLS UNANSWERED
POTATOES AT SYDNEY * MAY ROT
(Rec. 9 p.m.) SYDNEY, Jap. 14. Thousands of bags of swede turnips and potatoes from Tasmania may rot if two ships tied up in Sydney Harbour are not unloaded. The potatoes are actually the taxpayers’ property, as they were shipped under a Government arrangement. The watersiders at the inter-state pick-up centre again refused to accept work to-day, because of the dispute on the New Zealand barque Pamir Ten ships are now without labour. Calls for 2300 men were made, but nope apswered.
