MEAT DISPUTE
TRADE OFFICIALS ON • SECRET ERRAND (Rec. 10 p.m.) SYDNEY, Jan. 14. A mysterious turn to the retail butchers’ closure in Sydney and Newcastle was given to-day by the departure of the secretary and president pf the Meat and Allied Trades Federation for an undisclosed destination. Newspaper representatives were told that the two mep, Messrs T. A. Herbert and H. Barnes, would be absent for an indeterminate time for an unstated’ reason. Most of the Sydney butchers were still clfised to-day, and an official stated that probably there would be no further development until Friday,.
