WORLD SHORTAGE OF HOUSES
FIGURE PLACED AT 100,000,000 (Rec. 9 p.m.) NEW YORK, Jan. 13. Primarily as a result of the war there was now a world shortage of more than 100,000,000 homes. This was reported by the Social Division of the United Nations, which called the housing shortage the “core of the social problem,” and said there was no more urgent problem than providing healthy, comfortable houses for the homeless.
