THREATS TO BLOW UP BUILDINGS
POLICE SEARCH FOR MAN IN LONDON
(Rec. 9.30 p.m.) LONDON, Dec. 17. Every available policeman has been detailed to track down the “man with a gruff voice,” who, in the last four days, has made 20 threats that various places will be blown up. Seetlqnd Yard jaelieves the calls were made by irresponsible hoaxers, but the danger ef the threats is that each compel? officers of the police forae, which is Under strength, to make long searches when needed for other duties. The ‘‘Daily Express” says that from now on it will not print news of telephoned false alarms. “We will not encourage Jew baiters who seek to besmirch Jewry and cause public resentment.” says the paper. “We will not encourage misguided Zionists who seejr to further their political ends by threats of violence.
