FILM PROJECTOR PRESENTED TO SCHOOL

As a Christmas gift to the school the Shirley Intermediate School Association made the presentation of a talking picture projector at a special function attended by more than 300 people on Monday evening. The gift was made to the headmaster (Mr S. C. Gibb) by the patron of the association (Mr Ernest Adams). A programme of films was shown, preceded by items from the school choir.

This effort was the culmination of a series of money-raising activities by the school association in which between £2OO and £3OO was raised. Plans are now being made for further work to raise money for the purchase of a piano for the school.
