DECISION TO BE MADE NEXT YEAR

To enable the board to give full consideration to the claims of each applicant, all applicants for the position of rector of the Timaru Boys’ High School had been told that a decision would not be made until the New Year, said the chairman of the Timaru High Schoo] Board of Governors (Mr H. H. Fraser) at a meeting of the board this week. It was agreed to adopt his suggestion that the number should be reduced by the appointment committee to six for consideration by the board. Mr Fraser reported that Mrs J. Forbes, a former matron, has been apSointed matron of the Boys’ High chool. and was expected to arrive m New Zealand about the middle of January. The board appointed Miss Margaret Anderson, M.A., of Auckland, assistant mistress aUthe Timaru Girls’ High School.
