PRESBYTERIAN SOCIAL SERVICE
At a meeting of the Presbyterian Social Service Association held this week a letter was received from the Director of the Child Welfare Branch of i Education Department congratulating the committee on its plans for the new homes, and giving official approval. The committee passed a motion of sympathy with one of its members, Mr G. Henderson, in the death of Mrs Henderson, who had taken a very personal interest ill the welfare of the children at the boys’ home and the family home. The superintendent, in his report, stated that the work of the association in the hospitals, mental hospital, and amongst the prisoners at Paparua had ke»/. the chaplains and the deaconess very busy during the month. In conjunction with the Young Men’s Christia:- Association, a programme of pictur s and entertainment had been given at the Templeton Farm School. During the month the homes had been visited by a number of old boys who had returned from overseas.
