IRRIGATION REPORTS
VISIT OVERSEAS BY engineer (From Our Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON. July 19. The Minister of Works (the Hon. R. Semple) has agreed to look into the possibility of haying a resume of the reports on visits to Australia and America j by the irrigation engineer (Mr J. Q. Riddell) prepared for publication. Mr Semole gave this information in answer to a question in the House of Representatives by Mr R. G. Gerard (Opposition, Mid-Canterbury), who suggested thdt, in View of ihterest iri the Ashburton County, the reports Should-be published. Mr Semple said the reports were voluminous and Highly technical. He had Ho objection to their being printed, blit He considered that the limited results that would be achieved Would hot justify the .-printing of the- reports.
