MORE SERIOUS CRIME IN N.S.W.
(Hee. 10.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, May 7. An alarming increase ifi zenouz crime in New South Wales ia shown in the latest official figures of arrests for eanital crimes. The figures for 1945, with those for 1940 in parentheses, are: murder. 63 1401; rape. 34 (9). During the year 36 people were robbed by armed thugs as against 13 in 1840. The sudden increase is attributed to the ease with which criminals were able to get firearms brought back, from the war fronts.
