CANADIAN ARCTIC EXPEDITION
OPERATION COMPLETED 'Rec- 930 p.m.) ' OTTAWA, May 7. ,The Canadian Army’s Arctic manoeuvres “operation Musk ox” ended yesterday when 10 snowmobiles and 50 officers and men completed in 82 days a 3100-mile expedition through Canada s north-west to test machines under extreme cold. The expedition completed the last 107 miles/by train to save the snowmobiles from permanent damage when gravel and dust on the Alaska Highway interfered with the mechanisms. The expedition obtained valuable meteorological and military supply data.
