“ SHINE ON, HARVEST MOON ” Twenty-four songs, 18 of them old time, and six original numbers heard for the first time, comprise the vocal part of “Shine On, Harvest Moon,” starring Ann Sheridan and Dennis Morgan, which will be shown at the Plaza Theatre again this week. The film depicts the rise of the first of the torch-singers from her early days in a Milwaukee saloon to the success which eventually befell her as one of the biggest of .the Ziegfeld stars .The story is based-on the life of Nora Bayes (played by Miss .Sheridan) and her discovery by Jaqk Norworth (Dennis Morgan). Norworth recognised his future *vife’s singing abiL tty when she was in the Milwaukee saloon, and made her a star on the vaudeville. stage. Norworth himself was called in '-by Warner Bros, to supervise certain parts of the film, particularly the scene which reproduces the r.ctual conditions under which Nora Bayes and her husband composed “Shine On, Harvest Moon.” The two leading players are ably supported by Jack Carson and Irene Manning.
