Y.M.C.A. OFFICERS
♦ ELECTION BY CONVENTION The following officers were elected at the final session of the New Zealand Y.M.C.A. convention in Christchurch yesterday:—national president, Mr C. R. Edmond (re-elected); national executive, Messrs C. S. Falconer G. C. Burton, R. Bell, N. Seddon, A. McDougall, H. J. Steptoe, A. H. Wallace, J. K. Purdie, and C. L. Blackburn, the Rev. L. H. North, and Lieutenant-Colonel Hogan. It was decided to raise a fund to make possible an extension of the work of the association after the war, and delegates promised the support of local associations. It was decided to extend the existing superannuation fund for employed officers. The annual meeting of employed officers was held during the convention, and the following officers were elected:—president, Mr R. M. firasted (Wellington); chairman, Mr L. Andersoik (Invercargill); secretary, Mr L. Johansen (Masterton); executive, Messrs R. Simpson (Wellington), G. K. Pitkethley (Hutt Valley), and J. H. Don Miller (Dunedin).
