All players to be on the grounds at 2.30 p.m. sharp. —1 TO-DAY’S GAMES RUGBY, LEAGUE AND ASSOCIATION Canterbury Rugby football competitions will be commenced to-day, and with League Rugby and the Association game in full swing, footballers will be busily engaged. In Rugby Union football, the oval game at Lancaster Park will be between Harewood and Army, and with, teams of new players to Christchurch spectators, the game should be full of interest. The Athletic Club of last year, now playing as Marists. will meet a very smart combination In Teachers’ Training College, at Sunnyslde, and an idea ef the merits of the two teams will be gained. Sydenham and Merlvale will meet at Sydenham Park and Christchurch and University on the south ground at Lancaster Park. Llnwood will play Technical Old Boys at Rugby Park. In League football, the second round of the competitions will be played, when the strong Addington side will play against the combined Walmairi-Woolston-Hollywood thirteen, and Hornby will meet Sydenham at Hornby. Games to be played in the Association code are as follows:—Thistle v. Nomads, at ■ English Park: Western v. Shamrock, at Barrington street; and Technical v. Rangers, at Ensor’a' road.
