WORLD PRODUCTION EXCEEDED
CLAIM FOR U.S. AIRCRAFT INDUSTRY
(Rec. 12.30 a.m.) WASHINGTON, Jan, 10. “United States aircraft production is greater than that of all the rest of the world, the Axis and the Allies combined,” said Mr T. P. Wright, Director of the Aircraft Resources Control Office. “We are not entirely certain of some of the Allies’ production, nor of the enemy’s, but it can be fairly stated that the combined Allied output is four times that of the Axis. “United States production alone is twice the Axis production." Mr Wright said he estimated that American production in 1944 would exceed 10,000 aircraft each month.
