OBITUARY
DR. FREDERICK KEPPEL
Cabled advicie has been received of the death of Dr. Frederick Paul Keppel, president of the Carnegie Corporation of New York. He was 68 Dr. Keppel * visited New Zealand about five years ago to survey educational facilities in the Dominion and the newly-formed Council for Educational Research benefited by grants from the corporation, which enabled several publications to be prepared. During his tour he also inspected libraries in many centres and as a result grants for books were made available.
