SAND SHIFTING AT SUMNER
Sir,—ln his reply to my letter regarding the vast quantities of sand which are at present being moved into position, I note that Mr Murdoch, chairman of the works committee, said that the work was being done according to ultimate plans in mind. It will be news to residents that the council has set up a works committee, and many will wonder why none of the three contractors on the council is chairman. Also, residents and the public generally would be grateful if the council would publish details of the ultimate plans—Yours, etc., RESIDENT. May 13, 1943.
