Sir,—Residents notice that mountains of sand are being moved in Sumner, and would like to know whether the council is working in with the Public Works Department in a ,plan for the future lay-out of the foreshore, and, if so, what the details of the plan are Yours, etc., RESIDENT, May 10, 1943. [Commenting on the above letter, Cr. F. W. J. Murdoch, chairman of the works committee of the Sumner Borough Council, said that the Public Works Department was working in conjunction with the council, and the restoration of the foreshore improvements was being carried out with the ultimate plans in mind.]
