SUPREME COURT
COMPROMISE PROPOSED
When a compromise of £IOOO on an accident compensation claim was proposed in the Supreme Court yesterday morning, Mr Justice Northcroft said that considering plaintiff’s youth, it might be dangerous for such a large sum to be paid over to him. His Honour adjourned the case sine die to enable proposals for the application of the money to be submitted. The case was that of Irwin Wallace Gibbs (Mr R. Twyneham) v. Victor Gordon Main (Mr C. S. Thomas). Mr Twyneham said Gibbs had received a compound fracture of a leg in an accident on February 6, 1940. There had been complications which caused him to remain under a doctor until last October. Besides the handicap of his injuries, Gibbs had been set back one year in his studies. He was now 19 years old. Conjugal Rights
An order for the restitution of conjugal rights within 14 days was made in the case of Nona Mary Little (Mr T. K. Papprill) v. Lan Ross Little.
