MINING Associated Gold Dredges (N.Z.), Ltd.— For the week ended April 3. the company’s dredges recovered 188 ounces from 88,500 yards in 361 dredging hours. Alexander Mines.—l2o tons of ore were crushed for 38 ounces of melted gold, valued at £290, during March. In addition, 21 tons of concentrates were saved, valued at £6O. STOCK SALES DUVAUCHELLE There was a large yarding of cattle at the monthly stock sale at Duvauchelle on Friday and fat cattle came forward in larger numbers than usual. Fat cattle prices showed a decline on recent rates, but the' entry of about 170 head were all sold at auction. There were about 200 head of stores yarded, consisting of all classes and these met with a keen demand. Springers also realised high prices, the entry being larger than usual. The range of values was as follows: Fat steers, £l3 17s 6d to £lB 10s; lighter sorts, £lO 12s 6d to £11; fat heifers, £lO 17s 6d to £l4 ss; lighter sorts, £6 10s to £9; fat cows, £lO 17s 6d to £ls; lighter sorts, £4 2s 6d to £7 ss; springers, £ll 10s to £l4 10s; three-year-old steers, £ll 17s 6d to £l2; two-year-old steers and heifers. £6 17s 6d to £9; 18-months cattle, £4 10s to £7 2s 6d: store cows and heifers, £1 15s to £6.
