VICEREGAL (P.A.) RAINCLIFF, January 17. This morning the GovernoV-General (Sir Cyril Newall) and Lady Newall attended divine service at St. Mary’s Church, Geraldine. The promotion of Lieutenant R. K. King, M.C., to be captain, has been gazetted. Captain King, a former Canterbury Rugby representative player and captain of the 1939 New Zealand Rugby League team, is a prisoner of war.
Warrant-Officer J. E. Duncan, M.8.E., has been granted a temporary commission in the Royal New Zealand Air Force, in the rank of flight lieutenant, according to an announcement in the Gazette.
