RECORD CROWD AT CORSAIR BAY A retfdrd crowd was present at Corsair Bap yesterday. Hie beach and the bay were packed with picnickers, and the water was thronged with bathers all day*. An extra service was in operation on the Lyttelton line, additional trains being run in between the timetable trains. Firfc Brigade Officers Elected At th'e annual meeting of the Lyttelton Volunteer Fire Brigade the superintendent. Mr R. Carson, tendered his resignation from the brigade, after 38 years of service. The resignation was considered in committee and the meeting’decided not to’accept it The following officers were. elected: —Superintendent. Mr R. Carson; deputysuperintendent Mr A. 'WJyatt; foreman, Mr W.> Geayley; secretary, Mr C. J. Beckett. * Swimming Swimming events were held by the Lytteltoh Men’s Amateur Swimming Club and the Lyttelton Ladies’ Swimming Club at Corsair Bay on Saturday afternoon, with results as follows: MEN’S EVENTS 50 Yards Breaststroke Championship.— B. Duff 1, N. Richardson 2, A. Miller 3. 50 Yards Breaststroke (least number of strokes)—R. Duff. 7 strokes. 1; G. Reed 10, 2; R. Stanley and N.
