WORK FOR POST-WAR YEARS

SUB-COMMITTEE APPOINTED AT LEESTON

A sub-committee was appointed at the monthly meeting of the Leeston Town Board to prepare a list of : works suitable for inclusion in the Rehabilitation Board’s post-war. programme. Those appointed to the committee were Commissioners.. J. Purser '(chairman), J. H. Jones, and J.-McAllister.- . Advice was received from the No. 14 Highways Council that it would have a small' amount of money available this year for second coat sealing of highways. The chairman and Commissioners McAllister and J. H. Jones were asked to negotiate with the Highways authorities about extensive repairs needed on a section of the sealing through the town district.

■ln reply to the District Engineer of Railways, who. inquired for the reason why representatives-of the board and the Ellesmere County Council wished to discuss with him matters concerning a culvert under* the railway, Jt was pointed out that both bodies were considering flood relief matters, In which the existing culvert was a limiting factor.
