GIANT U.S. CARGO PLANE
FIRST FLIGHT MADE IN CALIFORNIA NEW YORK, Jan. 10, The “Now York Herald-Tribune” states that at Burbank, California, the new Lockheed triple-tailed sharkbodied Constellation transport aeroplane. capable of flying a light tank, with troops and complement, across an ocean, has made its first flight. Engineers described the Constellation as the swiftest, biggest, and most powerful land-based cargo aeroplane ever built. It may out-speed the Zeros or any known four-engined bomber. The newcomer will cruise at 20,000 feet, and is able to rise to 35,000 feet.
