KAIAPOI CLUB The Kaiapoi Golf Club opened its winter season, on Saturday. A mixed Canadian foursome was played, the results being;—B. Holmes and Busby, iOi), 28—72; R. J. Smith and Mrs Smith, 91, 14 —77; hj. R. Aspinall and Mrs M. Flowei. 92. 14—78. A special meeting was held before the opening, when it was decided that members living more than five miles from the links be charged a subscription of 10s oil a year, plus Is 6d a round. HAGLEY LADIES’ CLUB The result of matches played on closing day of the summer season was;— Hidden partners, two pairs tied, Mrs H. G. Wake I18)-and Mrs I. R. Maxted (31), and Mrs J. E, Gudgeon (13) and Mrs W, N Clvilman (25). the latter winning on tne count back. Consolation prizes were won Seniors. Mrs R. McCrone, and juniors Miss F. Stark. A putting competition lor a prize given by Mrs Tucker was won by Mrs E. A, Summers. In' the tie between Mrs Tucker and Mrs M. A. Cleary in the bisque bogey, the former won on the recount.
