TREATMENT BY JAPANESE
♦ BRITISH IN MALAYA AND CHINA LONDON, March 12. • No evidence of treatment of British subjects similar to that reported from Hong Kong has been received in London from areas in China and Malaya which have been occupied by the Japanese. In Shanghai and other places in China, British subjects have not been interned, but their movements have been restricted in varying degrees. A small number of unidentified people have been arrested by the Japanese police. Many British subjects have been interned in Japan, but nothing is known of the conditions in the places of internment. The British Government is doing its utmost to obtain information.
