NEW ZEALANDERS IN GREECE
* Message of Thanks From King (P.A.) WELLINGTON, September 26. A message conveying ' the gratitude of the King, Government, and people of Greece to the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force and the Dominion was received to-day by the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser) through the High Commissioner for New Zealand (Mr W. J. Jordan). The text of the cablegram from Mr Jordan was as follows: — “At the meeting of the Inter-Allied Conference to-day the Prime Minister of Greece asked me to convey the most grateful thanks of His Majesty the King of the Hellenes and the Government and people of Greece to you and to your Government and people, especially to the general, brigadiers, all officers and other ranks of the New Zealand forces, for their great services in Greece and for the personal protection which was given to their King and others during their preparation and departure from their country.”
