PIPING AND DANCING COMPETITIONS
WESTLAND CENTRE’S SESSIONS AT GREYMOUTH
(F.0.0.R.) GREYMOUTH, August 21. The first annual piping and dancing competitions of the Westland Centre of the Piping and Dancing Association of New Zealand began at Greymouth this evening. Competitors from many parts of the South Island have entered. In addition to the visiting competitors there are a large number of local entrants. About 34 events will be held on the three days. There are 320 entries and 65 competitors. The Mayor (Mr F. A, Kitchingham) officially opened the festival. to-night, .when he welcomed competitors, visitors, and the judge, Mr J. A. Fraser (Riccarton. Results are:—
