ENGAGEMENTS
The engagement is announced of Dr. Edmund GilloW Young, younger son of Mr and Mrs H. A. Young, Cashmere, Christchurch, to Prudence, second daughter of Mr and Mrs J. A. Todd. Makirikiri, Wanganui. The engagement is announced of Thelma Gouldeh, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs C, E. Green, St. Albans, to McCullough, eldest son of Mr W. T. Dunn, and the late Mrs A. L. Dunn, Avonside. WOMEN’S TEMPERANCE ’UNION
The fifteenth birthday anniversary of the North Brighton Women’s Christian Temperance Union was celebrated at the North Beach Baptist Church, Mrs D. Goldman presiding. Mrs C. W. Barrel!, representing the district executive, and the Rev. D. McKee congratulated the union on its good work. A musical programme was arranged by Mrs C. Chapman, of the New Brighton Union. Those contributing items were Mesdames W. E. Olds, Wilson, C. Haase, R. E. Voller, C. Chapman, Priddy, Bielby, and Mr Wilson. Mrs Olds was accompanist. A competition was won'by Mrs, Ramsay and Mrs Lewis, and Mrs Felton was hostess.
