GERMANY’S PLANS FOR SYRIA
TURKEY ANXIOUS DEFENCE MEASURES ON FRONTIER (Received June 6, 8 p.m.) LONDON, June 5. The Ankara correspondent of the Associated Press of Great Britain reports that the Turkish Foreign Minister (Sukru Saracoglu) in an interview with Herr von Papen, the German Ambassador, expressed Turkey’s anxiety at the landing of German troops in Syria. Sukru Saracoglu is reported to have told Herr von Papen that Turkey is ready to take further security measures on her south-eastern frontier.
