CALEDONIAN SOCIETY

* FORTNIGHTLY SOCIAL There was a large attendance of members and friends at the Caledonian Hall last evening, when the society held its fortnightly social. The president, Mr C. S. Thomas, • was on the platform, and with him Messrs B. Moore and George Sey (vice-presi-dents). Twenty-five new member's were elected. The programme, arranged by Messrs R. H. Rankin and B. Moore (directors), comprised selections by the society’s pipe band; duet, Mrs Whitworth and Miss Robson; Seann Triubhais, Misses Gracie Cameron and Valma Burney, recitation, Miss Noeline McAleer; Highland fling, Misses Nita Mayo arid Rita Stanley: cornet solo, Mr C. AMridge; tap dance, Master M. Winterbourn; pipe selections, Piper D. Flanagan; Highland reel, Misses G. Cameron, N. Mayo, R. Stanley, and V. Burney; songs. Misses A. Holdgate, Rhona Hill, Hall, Doreen Udell, Mesdames Pearce, A. Ledsham. Messrs C. Burrows, Bracey Wilson. The accompanist was Mr G. C, Russell. Mr Trevor Hutton played a flute obbligato for Miss Holdgate’s songs. George Bradford’s orchestra supplied the music for dancing.
