UNITY FOR IRELAND
TO THE EDITOR OF THE PRESS. Sir, -Seeing that the Empire is at war would it be out of place if the New Zealand Government, in conjunction with other British Dominions, urged the British Government to make a settlement, once lor all, with Ireland, by bringing that country under one government? This is the first time that the Free State has not been represented at war with England, and I am sure a good many Irishmen are longing to serve and that a good many are serving at present. I think it would be in the interests of the Empire as a whole. Some of the old diehards at Home need waking up Yours, etc., _ F.W.S. July 23, 1940.
