Rose Marie had only to finish In the final, but by a splendid display won the race this afternoon from Tornado, -with Marita third, Mayfair fourth, and Vagabond fifth. That result was, however, subject to the hearing of five protests because of an occurrence at the first leeward mark, when all the boats, in a bunched line, converged, giving the four boats on the windward po room to respond When the leeward bdat luffed. Every boat came into contact with another, and each one protested. The final result Is in doubt pending the conclusion of a long sitting in committee.

In the morning race in a very light south-westerly breeze, over a three-point course of 11 miles. Rose Marie’s skipper sailed a wonderful race, first having to displace the early leader. Tornado, then to tackle and outsail Marita. While Rose Marie and Tornado were having a luffing match at the end of the second round, Marita had sailed up under their lee and started the final lap 30 seconds ahead of Rose Marie when the two leaders turned for the beat to the finishing line.
