JEWISH REFUGEES FROM GERMANY
U.S. OFFICIAL QUESTIONS DR. SCHACUT BERLIN, January 12. Mr George Rublee, economic adviser to the United States Embassy, questioned Dr. Schacht, economic adviser to Herr Hitler, in an interview lasting 90 minutes, .to discover whether there was any prospect of negotiations resulting in a plan for the migration of Jewish refugees which would be acceptable to foreign countries. Dr. Schacht consulted his Government on the points raised.
CAMP FOR GERMANS IN
KENT
(iimu ornciAL wimiLiat.) RUGBY, January 14. The Council for German Jewry has been granted permission by the Home Office to open a camp on the Kent coast as a temporary home for German refugees, who will ultimately emigrate. The council hopes that some 3500 persons, mostly young men, will be brought from Germany, and that as they leave the camp others will take their places.
