HOSPITAL FOR LOWER HUTT
MINISTER APPROVES PROPOSAL
(VBXS3 ASSOCIATION TXLEGBAU.) WELLINGTON, December 21. The Minister for Health (the Hon. P. Fraser) has approved of the erection of a building to house 150 beds, in addition to 25 maternity beds, for th= first section of the proposed Lower Hurt Hospital, and asked the Wellington- Hospital Board, when preparing plans, to provide for future extensions. The architects have been instructed to prepare sketch plans for a 400-bed general hospital, in addition to 50 maternity beds, with all the necessary services. The building is not to exceed four storeys in height. They have also been asked to show the most economical way of erecting the block in sections.
