HAIFA BOMBING
FIFTY-NINE ARABS KILLED PASSENGER TRAIN DERAILED (Received July 29, 7.30 p.m.) JERUSALEM, July 29. The death roll among Arabs through the Haifa bombing outrage of July 25 has now reached 59. Five Arab police were ambushed at Bethlehem and wounded. Arabs derailed a passenger train north of Lydda. Terrorists captured a platelayer and allowed a goods train to pass before removing dog-spikes from the track. The locomotive was overturned.
EXTRA POLICE FOR PALESTINE
LONDON, July 28. The Secretary of State for the Colonies (Mr Malcolm Mac Donald), in replying to a question in the House of Commons, said that Great Britain at present was recruiting 236 extra British police to proceed to Palestine.
