RELATIONS OF DOMINIONS
♦ “DRIFTING FARTHER APART” ADDRESS TO CANADIAN SERVICE CLUB (Received July 27, 8 p.m.) OTTAWA, July 26. Mr William Whitelaw. Dominion archivist, who has returned from a trip to Australia, in an address to the Service Club, said: “Canada and Australia are drifting farther apart in appreciation of one another. “The degree of ignorance of one another on the part of the Dominions is appalling. How long can an Empire, supposed to be a commonwealth of nations, continue if the only contacts are made l?y trade treaties? Time will knit the Empire when things are going well; but not in times of emergency.
