COAL STRIKE THREAT IN N.S.W.
* GOVERNMENT PLANS TO STOP HOLD UP (Received July 28, 12.30 a.m.) SYDNEY. July 27. The “Sun” reports that the State Government has decided to intervene to try to prevent the threatened general strike in the coal industry. The Cabinet has authorised the Minister for Labour (Mr Alexander Mair) to visit the southern and northern coalfields, to investigate the complaints. He is to report to the Government as to whether mediatory action should be taken.
