ELECTION DISPUTE IN ALEXANDRETTA
TURKEY WILL NOT RECOGNISE LEAGUE COMMISSION (Received June 23, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, June 22. The Geneva correspondent of the “News-Chronicle” says that the Turkish Government has informed the League of Nations that it will not recognise the authority of the commission entrusted with the supervision of the election in the Sanjak of Alexandretta. Turkey also refuses to pay her share of the commission’s expenses.
Lack of funds may force the commission to abandon the attempts which are being made to mollify the Turks.
