OBITUARY

MISS ADA HARRISON The death occurred in Wellington recently of Miss Ada Harrison, at the ag Miss Harrison was born in Australia, and came to New z ® ala^ H ™ken she was nine years of age, and con ■ tinued her education at the Greymouth Public School. WOMEN’S AUXILIARY CANTERBURY MANUFACTURERS’ ASSOCIATION By the courtesy of the management of Messrs Ernest Adams, Ltd., the secretary of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Canterbury Manufacturers’ Association (Miss F. L. Cooper) arranged for members to, visit this up-to-date cake and biscuit factory.' About 30 members took advantage of the invitation, and wfero met by Mr H. Bruce, who conducted the party over all departments of the factory, and explained the various processes, including the cleaning of the fruit, mixing of sponge and cake mixtures, and puddings, icing, decorating, biscuit making, and the cooking of products in travelling ovens. The many laboursaving devices were admired, and visitors were interested! in the daintilyfurnished tea-room for employees. At-the conclusion of the visit Mrs C. S.
