SUNLIGHT LEAGUE

MEETING OF COUNCIL CARE OF CHILDREN’S TEETH DISCUSSED The annual meeting of the council and combined committees of the Sunlight League was held on Saturday afternoon at the home of Dr. and Mrs D. E. Currie, Cashmere Hills. Dr. Currie presided over a good attendance. Reports of the work done during the year by the various sub-committees were submitted and received. The chairman of the Dental and Diet subcommittee said that it was felt that more attention should be given to the teeth of children in the period between their. leaving the care of the Plunket Society and their entering kindergartens. “We feel that neglect of the teeth during that period causes much trouble in later years and that so far, we have done little for children of that age. That is the black spot on our sheet. We hope this year to do something to remedy this state of affairs,” the chairman concluded. The balance-sheets of the league and of the health camp committee showed satisfactory credit balances. Gratitude was expressed to Woolworths, Ltd., the organisers of the community singing sessions, and the Catholic Womens League for valued help during the year.- ■ ; Miss Jill Barker, president of the recently formed Children’s Sunlight League was welcomed to the meeting and thanked for the work she had done in forming the league. j A vote of thanks was passed to Mrs J.
