ACCOMMODATION AT HIGH SCHOOL
CANTERBURY COLLEGE COUNCIL’S REQUEST
Because of the Targe Increase in the of the secondary department of Christchurch West High School, the Canterbury University College Council decided at its meeting yesterday to ask the Education Department to authorise some temporary accommodation for the present year. Mr C. T. Aschman presided at the meeting. It was decided to write to the Minister for Education ("the Hon. P. Fraser), expressing appreciation for the handsome addition made this year in the grants to the college. The council expressed its thanks to the Rev. M. A. Rugby Pratt for his gift to the Canterbury Museum of a large collection of articles from Tonga, together with some historical relics of early Tasmania.
