AUSTRALIAN LABOUR
EFFORT TO OVERTHROW "INNER GROLP" (Received January 23, 10 p.m.) SYDNEY, January 23. Four hundred delegates, representing 70' trade unions, 62 Australian Labour Party branches and more than 150,000 New South Wales unionists, held a conference at the Trades Hall this week-end in an effort to overthrow what is termed "the inner group," dominated by Mr J. T. Lang. They passed a resolution repudiating the "inner group." declaring war on it, and calling en the Federal Australian Labour Party executive to recognise the newmovement as the only official New South Wales branch, representing organised labour. I The conference also decided to set up a central Labour organising committee of 30 members to carry' out the plans of the reconstituted party to regain control of the party machine.
