CHEMISTS AND CHEMISTS

TU THE EDITOR OF TUE PRESS. f'Sjr,— I have been asked by the council of the New Zealand Institute of Chemistry to clear up any possible misconception which might arise out oi the use of the word "chemist" in your report of the discussion at our annual conference. The members of the institute are not pharmaceutical chemists. They are consulting analytical chemists, research chemists, imen employed in industrial laboratories for the control of manufacturing processes, and teachers of chemis;tty in universities and secondary Ischools. The great majority hold a IMaster of Science degree of a university, or its equivalent. Confusion between our members and those of the pharmaceutical profession is very common and is not in the best interests of either. —Yours, etc., H. N. PARTON. January 22, 1938.
