UNEMPLOYMENT IN AUSTRALIA
BACK TO PRE-DEPRESSION LEVELS
(Receive'd January 21, 8 p.m.) CANBERRA, January 20. Figures issued by the Commonwealth Statistician show that employment in Australia is back to pre-depression levels. At the end of last year only 8.2 per cent, of trade union members were out of employment. This :s the lowest figure since August, 19<s/, when 6.7 per cent, were out of worJc.
