"As armament work is completed, other work must be found to replace it," said Mr Edwin Fisher, who presided at the annual meeting of Barclay's Bank. He added that rearmament must in the long run tend to depress the standard of living, therefore it was desirable to promote international goodwill to lighten the burden.
