UNEMPLOYMENT IN AMERICA
♦ 4.5 PER CENT. OF POPULATION WITHOUT WORK (Received January 20, 10.10 p.m.) WASHINGTON, January 20. The United States Secretary for Labour (Miss Frances Perkins) has released statistics indicating that every tenth worker in the United States is unemployed. Statisticians found that 4.5 per cent, of the total population are totally unemployed.
